New Jersey will be in state of emergency starting at 10 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11 due to the heavy rain that is expected over the weekend.
Lt. Gov. Tahesha Way declared the State of Emergency in an announcement on social media: "I am declaring a State of Emergency effective Saturday at 10 p.m. as we anticipate a coastal storm that will bring flash flooding, heavy rain, and damaging winds."
The rain is expected to start Saturday evening and last throughout Sunday. Rain will be heavier in the southern part of the state with an estimated amount of 2 to 4 inches possible.
