TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - The suspect accused of killing a man in Tucson last year and burning his body is facing more felony charges after authorities found an explosive device in his vehicle during a traffic stop late Wednesday, Oct. 8.

The Tucson Police Department said 44-year-old Christopher Terry Compton was arrested this week on charges of possession of a prohibited weapon, prohibited possessor, and disorderly conduct. He is being held without bond.

During his initial court appearance, the state mentioned that Compton has a pending felony case in Pima County Superior Court.

On Friday, the TPD confirmed that the case is a homicide from December 2024.
