The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is warning customers not to use bed rails sold at online retailers such as Walmart and Amazon due to a potential entrapment and asphyxiation hazard.

The CPSC is warning the public against four models of OasisSpace portable bed rails sold online by Amazon and Walmart, as well as OasisSpace's website due to an entrapment hazard, which poses a risk of serious injury or even death.

The CPSC says an 81-year-old woman died in her home in 2023 after she became trapped between the bed rail and her mattress.

The CPSC has issued a notice of violation to Gold Kernal, LLC, who manufactured the bed rails because they failed to meet safety requirements. Despite this, Gold Kernal has not agreed to recall the rails or offer any remedy to customers at this t
