GOREVILLE, Ill. (WSIL) -- UPDATE: ISP stated I-24 reopened at 2:10 p.m.

ORIGINAL: October 10, 8:30 a.m. -- Interstate 24 eastbound near milepost 2 in Johnson County is closed following two separate deadly crashes on Friday morning.

As of 9:30 a.m., Illinois State Police said the roadway is still closed after the crashes took place at around 6 a.m. on the morning of October 10.

Illinois State Police Troop 10 reported the traffic is being diverted via Interstate 57 southbound to Illinois Route 146.
