Traffic will be a big factor in the approval of any potential Costco Wholesale store at a busy south Reno corridor, according to the city of Reno.

City staff will be looking especially at traffic capacity, access and overall impacts on transportation flow, Chris Pingree, director of development services, told the Reno Gazette Journal on Thursday.

Pingree addressed questions about traffic and the confusion surrounding the south Reno Costco just days after a permit was mistakenly filed for the project on Monday, Oct. 6. The permit was first reported by the RGJ and has since been widely reported by other news outlets before it was rejected by the city on Oct. 8 as an erroneous filing .
