With Halloween right around the corner, The Bitter Root Humane Association is gearing up for their biggest fundraising event of the year.
The Bitter Root Humane Association is hosting its second annual Halloween fundraiser event, “The Howling” on Oct. 18 at the McVey Homestead in Victor.
The catered costume-dinner party will feature both live and silent auctions, a raffle and other games that will raise money for the shelter's operational costs.
“Rather than doing a bunch of small fundraisers throughout the year, we try and do one big one that really sets our budget,” Bitter Root Humane Association Shelter Director Tucker Chase said about the event. “One hundred thousand is the goal. We made about $65,000 last year before expenses.”
