May I propose we rename our beloved Newnan, City of Homes, to Data Center City?

Beyond projects Sail and Peach, today I read about the third mammoth data center proposed for central Coweta. The article also says, “Private citizens can no longer submit public comments directly.”

I have read articles in The Newnan Times-Herald about contentious County Commission meetings where angry citizens oppose the latest residential development, data center or amusement park so strongly that commissioners felt it necessary to retain off-duty sheriff’s deputies who quickly threaten to clear the room.

Yet, after the will of Coweta County residents is clear, city and county leaders quietly approve all the contested projects.
