MANSFIELD, La. (KSLA) - A boil advisory for the entire City of Mansfield was issued Friday, Oct. 10.

Public Works Director Taurus Chatman says it’s because some issues with one of the city’s water storage tanks were noticed during a recent inspection. The tank in question is being taken offline for repairs.

Chatman says those repairs are expected to take about a week.

Chatman also emphasized that this is an advisory, not a notice, meaning it’s not mandatory. He says the water won’t make anyone sick if they drink it.

No bottled water distribution centers are being set up by the city, Chatman says.
