As the discussion around the local homelessness crisis continues, the CEO of the Canadian Mental Health Association Huron Perth is reminding residents there are still ways to support the city’s most vulnerable, despite the lack of a dedicated Stratford shelter.

Noting the Stratford Connection Centre serves as the local hub for programs that support the area’s homeless, Catherine Hardman encouraged city residents to help champion their efforts.

“The Stratford Connection Centre is our homelessness hub, and my staff know everyone who is living unsheltered in this city. We have the relationships to provide care and support, so we ask the community to support our efforts,” she said in a release.
