COLUMBIA COUNTY, Pa. — It hasn't even been a week since Aiden Ha, a nonverbal autistic boy from Columbia County, has been gone, and already, there is something being proposed that could help others like him in the future.
Inside State Representative Robert Leadbeter's Berwick office, members of law enforcement who helped in the search for Aiden gathered as they heard about Leadbeter's proposed legislation to establish a Purple Alert system in Pennsylvania.
"We can honor Aiden's memory and legacy by creating this system here in Pennsylvania. A purple alert would have helped spread the word faster and wider, bringing more people into the effort right away," said Rep. Robert Leadbeter (R), 109th district.
