The Wolfe Islander IV is set to return to service Saturday since being docked two months ago.

The ferry will run from Marysville to Kingston every 80 minutes rather than on every 60.

The Wolfe Islander III, which has been standing in for its successor since Aug. 2, had been docking at Dawson Point, what’s known as the winter dock, rather than in Marysville. It will now be heading into dry dock, believed to be in Hamilton, for a mandatory inspection.

Should the Wolfe Islander IV run into trouble again during that time, the backup will be the current Amherst Island ferry, Kingston and the Islands MPP Ted Hsu said. In that scenario, the Frontenac II will step in to shuttle passengers from Millhaven to Stella.
