The status of a potential mid-decade redistricting remains unclear even after lawmakers met with Vice President JD Vance in the Indiana State Library for hours Oct. 10 , but legislative leaders promised a decision "soon".
The visit comes weeks after lawmakers in Missouri and Texas approved new maps and marked Vance's second trip to Indianapolis on the topic of redistricting. It's a possible sign that legislators are hesitant to change maps they approved just a few years ago, some Republican lawmakers and observers told IndyStar .
