LOS ANGELES, California — David Del Rio, a cast member on the CBS reboot of “Matlock,” has been dismissed from the series following accusations of sexual assault made by his co-star Leah Lewis, People reported .

The accused incident happened in late September on a Paramount studio lot. Lewis is said to have reported the incident early this month at which point production initiated an internal investigation, according to People.

According to Entertainment Weekly , Del Rio, 38, who portrayed Billy Martinez, was immediately removed from the “Matlock” set and later formally let go. Del Rio’s character will be written out of the show. However, the actor is still scheduled to appear in episodes already filmed, including the season 2 premiere.
