AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - The SPCA Albrecht Center has unveiled the first-ever 24/7 pet microchip station, providing a new resource for pet owners and community members working to reunite lost animals with their families.

The shelter officially opened the microchip station alongside a new pet food pantry, outside the facility, for easy access at any time of day or night.

The project was completed with help from volunteers who spent the day assembling the stations.

The microchip station allows people to check pets for microchips around the clock and provides step-by-step instructions on how to locate the owner’s information.
