SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - American Airlines CEO Robert Isom made a special visit on Friday to the University of Notre Dame, where he addressed aviation industry challenges amid an ongoing government shutdown.
The Notre Dame alum sat down with Martijn Cremers, dean of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business, for an open conversation about the current state of the airline industry.
The visit comes as the nation has reached the 10th day of a government shutdown. We’re also seeing flight delays nationwide, as air traffic controllers are required to work without pay.
“The thing that I’ll be talking about with (Transportation) Secretary (Sean) Duffy and FAA administrator Brian Redford is you know, how is that going to impact travel,” Isom said. “I mean it’s a holiday weekend; we have to be p
