TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - As heavy rain approaches Pima County this weekend, the Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) is urging pet owners to ensure their pets are safe and secure to prevent them from running away during the storms. PACC is also advising the community to adopt dogs since the shelter is at crisis capacity.
PACC Director Steve Kozachik emphasized the urgency of the situation, saying, "If you and your family have been considering adding a furry family member, there is no better time than now."
The shelter is currently housing 570 dogs in a space designed for 350 , with a particular concern for dogs weighing 40 pounds or more. The list of dogs on a deadline for placement by Oct. 12 can be found on the PACC Facebook page .
