SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- San Diego rescue crews airlifted an injured hiker from a trail in Los Peñasquitos Canyon Friday afternoon.
Around two dozen firefighters with the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department responded to calls for an open space rescue on a trail in Los Peñasquitos Canyon near the 12100 block of Camino Del Sur in San Diego at 1:35 p.m. Friday.
Crews were able to find the hiker on a trail in the park and reported they were in stable condition, the fire-rescue department said.
A rescue helicopter was called in to lift the hiker from the trail, and took the patient back to the first responders waiting at nearby fire engines parked at Park Village Drive, SDFD said.
