JACKSON, MI – When Veritas opened in 2019, the owners imagined it as a fine dining establishment where people could celebrate anniversaries and birthdays.
It also became a popular spot for corporate lunches during the week. This worked for a few months. However, when the COVID-19 pandemic shut down offices, that lunch business disappeared, and the restaurant could no longer survive on just celebrations, Co-Owner Roberta Dalenberg said.
The owners decided to close Veritas back in December of 2024 to come up with a new idea that would be more suitable for Jackson. They landed on Oak + Iron, 151 W. Michigan Ave., which is opening on Friday, Oct. 17.
