The Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) has replaced one Murphy with another.
Former board chair Patrick Murphy was selected on Oct. 9 to fill the Milton Ward 2 and 3 seat left vacant when Emma Murphy resigned from the position in September.
The two officials are not related.
A total of 16 letters of interest were received by the board applying to fill the seat. Out of those 16, 14 were invited to make their case to the board with a five-minute presentation at the Oct. 9 special meeting.
Following the presentations, the candidates were asked questions from the board. After that, a secret ballot was held that selected Murphy as the replacement.
