TWO RIVERS, Wis. (WFRV) - An out-of-control brush fire in Two Rivers on Friday morning prompted officials to provide extensive reminders on fire safety ordinances in the city.

The Two Rivers Fire Department reported that crews were sent to a reported fire shortly before 6 a.m. on Friday in the 2000 block of School Street. Responding crews found a large brush fire near the back of the property.

The out-of-control fire reportedly originated from a fire pit, going far beyond the intended area and was approaching a nearby building. Officials say it was a rekindled brush fire from earlier in the day.

Quick actions from firefighters on the scene helped to extinguish and prevent further damage and injuries. Officials also used the incident as a reminder of the following.
