WGNONEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A local social media content creator had a cool idea to get young voters to head to the polls.
New Orleans content creator Alex Robinson, who on Instagram is known as "alexx_robinson," organized a party to the polls event on a party bus.
This was her way to encourage young voters to get out and vote.
"Research your candidates and figure out who you're going to vote for, go to the polls and get it done," Robinson said.
Robinson said that the stakes are high, especially for younger voters like herself.
"I think that young people should be voting because this is your future, like if you're not fighting for yourself, like no one's going to do it for you," she said.
She feels that the big issues young people face in New Orleans are home ownership and job security.
