STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — New York City residents, particularly those along the coast, are urged by New York City Emergency Management to prepare for the storm forecast to impact the five boroughs this weekend.
The storm is expected to bring gusty winds, heavy rain and the threat of coastal flooding to the city from Sunday through Monday.
As explained by the National Weather Service , residents can expect anywhere from 1.5 to 3 inches of rain, but some areas can see even more precipitation.
The storm, forecast to form Friday night, will shift north and generate strength as it progresses closer to the city. A predominant concern shared by both city officials and Alex DaSilva, lead hurricane expert with AccuWeather , is the potential for coastal flooding. New York City Emergency Managem
