COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina State Fair continues to offer plenty of fun for everyone, including the annual American Rose Society exhibit that started on Friday, Oct. 10.

Inside the fair’s Cantey exhibition hall, dozens of colorful roses are on display, drawing in both first-time exhibitors and longtime growers.

Master Rosarian Satish Prabhu, who has been growing roses for 62 years, said each bloom is his work of art. “This is an excellent rose,” Prabhu said. “It got a red ribbon in second place. They’re looking for the outer petals to be horizontal to the ground.”
