The dust released by Glencore’s smelter in Falconbridge last month is not expected to add significant amounts of metals to the community’s soil, the company says.
In a letter sent this week to people who live in Falconbridge, Glencore said that while its investigation continues, preliminary results show the dust contained 13 metals.

“Preliminary modelling suggests that dust released from the smelter is not expected to significantly affect metal levels in surface soil within the community,” Glencore said.
