It’s a hockey city at heart, but the Maple Leafs don’t want to get in the Blue Jays way.

The club has announced it’s moving the start time of Thanksgiving Monday’s home date against the Detroit Red Wings up two hours from 4 p.m. to 2 p.m., so not to conflict with the 4:38 p.m. or 5:03 p.m. scheduled first pitch of the Jays’ in Game 2 versus either the Seattle Mariners or Detroit Tigers next door at the Rogers Centre.

The change was cleared with the NHL and Amazon Prime, which has a rare Leaf broadcast that day.

The move is to “avoid a conflict and create a doubleheader that Toronto fans will certainly be thankful for” read a Leafs’ release.
