SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) -A home’s HVAC system is the main contributor to a high power bill in the winter months, and overworking it could cost you hundreds extra per month.

Before the inevitable cold arrives this winter, replace air filters, and continue to do so every couple of months. It will keep your system running efficiently.

However, that’s only half the battle when it comes to lowering energy costs, explains Jamie Presley, who is the manager of communications for City Utilities.
