GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The weather has been cooperative this year and continues to be so. Thanks to this, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has several large projects planned for October.
"We've got two full closures, one on eastbound I-196 at US-131 and one on eastbound I-96 at Fruitridge," said John Richard with MDOT. "Those both start tonight."
According to Richard, eastbound I-96 at Fruitridge will reopen Sunday, while the eastbound I-196 and US-131 closure will reopen Monday.
Plainfield Avenue drivers have reported frustrations with construction from I-96 to Airway Street. MDOT said it will close ramps at that interchange this weekend.
