TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A huge success this week at the annual Betty Shirley Memorial Golf Tournament in Tuscaloosa.
Some 50 golfers turned out for the fundraiser tournament at Ol’ Colony Golf Complex. The tournament was a fundraiser for the Crossing Points program at the University of Alabama, which focuses on students with disabilities and prepares them for the workforce in the community.
“100% goes to our students in terms payment. So our students, while they are students in our program, they will have job sites and these job sites are opportunities to learn job skills and learn how to work,” said Dr. Jeremy Reid, UA Crossing Points clinical assistant professor.
“It’s gonna be a lot of fun and we’re gonna have a good time,” said Crossing Points student Davis Spain.
“Those are
