Democrats are standing united in the face of the indictment of one of their own.

“This is not simply an attack on Attorney General [Letitia] James. This is an attack on our city," Zohran Mamdani said Friday.

A group of federal, state and local officials used terms like “weaponization” and “attack” to denounce the charges brought against New York Attorney General Letitia James .

“We stand firmly with Attorney General James. We have her back, and we will not be silent as she is attacked for doing her job,” Assemblywoman Rodneyse Bichotte-Hermelyn said.

“This is a blatant miscarriage of justice. This is a shameless act of political retribution,” Mamdani said.

The Democratic nominee in the race for mayor took to defending James, but not all of the candidates felt the same.
