QUINCY (WGEM) -The Federal Bureau of Investigation has estimated there could be 500,000 child predators online at any time.

Quincy Regional Crime Stoppers (QRCS) are hosting a special presentation called “ Violent Extremists and Our Youth .” The presentation will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 22, at the Quincy Holiday Inn.

QRCS officials stated they are partnering with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force on the presentation, which will explore how extremist groups can influence and recruit young people through social media and gaming platforms.

QRCS officials said that attendees will gain insight into signs of online radicalization, the platforms used, and practical strategies to protect children and teens from these influences.
