Johnson County Coroner Mike Pruitt is facing 14 misdemeanor counts over allegations that he purchased alcohol for a teenage girl.

A special prosecutor on Oct. 10 filed seven charges against Pruitt of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and seven charges of furnishing alcohol to a minor.

The case will be heard in the Johnson County court, but Ted Adams, the Brown County prosecutor, will represent the state to avoid the appearance of bias or a conflict of interest, Johnson County prosecutor Lance Hamner said.
