Mass. barn fire sends thick smoke into the sky, roof collapses

LANCASTER, Mass. —

Crews were battling a fire in a barn in Lancaster, Massachusetts, late Friday afternoon.

The fire broke out at a barn on Shirley Road. From Sky5, it appeared the roof collapsed.

Animals could be seen outside the barn after they were evacuated. It was not clear if any animals were inside the barn.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
