Farmers who grow potatoes for Simplot have agreed on a new price and contract offering after months of tense negotiations, which ramped up to public protest action.
They took to their tractors earlier this month to highlight the big price cut they were facing for the spuds they grow for the processor.
Simplot then makes those potatoes into French fries for the fast food industry and frozen chips for supermarket freezers.
During early negotiations, growers asked Simplot to meet an increase in farming costs from the previous season.
Instead, the 2026 price was cut by six per cent.
"Last week's tractor rally and strong demonstration from growers certainly had a massive impact - we would not have got to this point without that action," TasFarmers CEO Nathan Calman said.
