BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — A fire on Capital Avenue in Bridgeport left 11 people and one pet displaced Friday evening, city officials said.
The fire department responded to the fire around 6:30 p.m. and found heavy smoke coming from the first floor. One civilian was evaluated by EMS after the fire, according to the Bridgeport Fire Department.
The American Red Cross is assisting in the relocation of eight adults, three children and one pet, according to the Bridgeport Fire Department.
The fire is under investigation at this time.
