LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
Six JCPS schools are piloting a new Junior Athletic Director program that brings high schoolers behind the scenes of sports administration and game day operations, with hands-on experience and mentorship tied to the University of Louisville.
“I’m really excited about this program. I’m really interested in sports, and I love sports, and I’m thinking about pursuing it in college and athletic training,” said Jenna Hayden, a senior at Fern Creek High School.
Open to juniors and seniors, the program is launching at six schools: Fairdale, Pleasure Ridge Park, Fern Creek, Western, Ballard and Central. Students will learn the rules of different sports, develop business acumen, and gain experience in marketing and game management.
