ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
KOAT received e-mails from neighbors over concerns regarding a nuisance abandoned home riddled with drugs, trash, fires and squatters in Northeast Albuquerque.
On Friday, Oct. 10, 2025, KOAT visited the property and spoke with neighbors. During one of our interviews, the city of Albuquerque Code Enforcement arrived and escorted an unhoused person from the vacant home.

On Tuesday, KOAT also reached out to Albuquerque City Councilor Tammy Fiebelkorn. She oversees District 7, including the northeast Albuquerque neighborhood we visited. She told KOAT she learned of the issues at the property on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025. Her statement is below.
