OMAHA, Neb. —
The owner of Dos de Oros food trucks in Omaha has been ordered to remain in custody by a federal judge following allegations that he has been smuggling workers from Mexico for over two decades.
Federal investigators accuse Manuel Garcia of housing employees in two Omaha homes, stating that these workers were brought into the United States illegally from Mexico.

Dos de Oros originally opened in Colorado in 2001, where Garcia started as a worker, before moving operations to Omaha in 2005.
A former employee came forward in June 2023, alleging they were smuggled from Mexico to work at the food trucks and threatened with immigration calls if they tried to quit.
