A 58-year-old woman died Thursday night, Oct. 9, when her mobile home in Bloomington caught fire, the San Bernardino County Fire Department said.
The Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Sherri D. Horan. One of her dogs also perished, the Fire Department said.
The home did not have working smoke detectors, said engineer Ryan Beckers, a Fire Department spokesman.
The fire was reported around 10:30 p.m. in the 10000 block of Laurel Avenue. Firefighters discovered the home, surrounded by debris, equipment and vehicles, ablaze down a long driveway, a news release said. Firefighters cut their way in and discovered Horan in a back bedroom. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two dogs were found alive outside. No firefighters were reported injured.
