A convicted felon who joined a cohort in killing a watchman at a 460-acre illegal marijuana grow in Anza was sentenced Friday to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Brandon Noll Pollard, 33, of Escondido killed Khamsene Singnolay in 2019.

Last month, a Murrieta jury convicted Pollard of first-degree murder, as well as two counts of kidnapping to commit robbery, a special-circumstance allegation of killing in the course of a robbery and a sentence-enhancing gun use allegation. Jurors deadlocked on a special circumstance of lying in wait.

During a sentencing hearing at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta Friday, Riverside County Superior Court Judge Timothy Freer imposed the life term required under state law for the offenses.
