Kathryn Bigelow is no stranger to military-political stories. She was the first woman to win the best director Oscar, for the Iraq War drama The Hurt Locker and also made Zero Dark Thirty , about the hunt for Osama bin Laden. Both were tense and dramatic and achieved a semi-documentary feeling at times. A House of Dynamite is her first film in eight years and has similar qualities, and quality.
