GRANT COUNTY, Wis. (KCRG) - Two people were injured in a crash involving a deer in Grant County on Tuesday.
At approximately 6:48 a.m. Tuesday, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle that hit a deer, just south of Substation Road in Potosi Township.
Police say a 44-year-old woman was driving a Ford Explorer southbound on Highway 61 when a deer jumped the east-side guardrail directly in front of her vehicle.
The driver hit the deer, resulting in significant damage to the front end of the vehicle.
The vehicle became disabled and blocked the two southbound lanes with debris on the roadway, according to police. The southbound lanes were temporarily closed.
