A Stuarts Draft man faces multiple charges after authorities say he fired gunshots into an occupied residence in Lyndhurst this past Tuesday.

There were no injuries reported after the shooting.

Jose Martinez-Cruz, 41, has been charged with maliciously shooting into an occupied building, shooting from a vehicle, six counts of child abuse and the reckless handling of a firearm.

Augusta County sheriff's deputies were dispatched around 6:54 a.m. to reported gunfire on Blackford Way in Lyndhurst.

Before deputies arrived, the suspect, later identified as Martinez-Cruz, had left the scene in a 2003 Jeep Liberty.

Deputies located the vehicle in the Stuarts Draft area and arrested Martinez-Cruz on View Drive.

He is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail in Verona.
