Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff and his wife, Lynne Benioff, have announced a $100 million gift to UCSF’s children’s hospitals in tandem with Benioff’s software company pledging $39 million for schools, nonprofits and local children’s hospitals.
The Benioffs previously donated several hundred million dollars to UCSF, including two $100 million donations to its children’s hospitals — one in 2010 , another in 2014.
The new donations come as preparations are well underway for Salesforce’s annual Dreamforce conference at Moscone Center. During the convention, Salesforce will seek to raise another $9 million in donations for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals, according to a company press release.
