LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The Kentucky Court of Appeals recently ruled that felons cannot possess firearms, overturning a Jefferson County court’s previous decision.
But, this is something that is just another step in a years-long saga. It all started with a case out of Jefferson County in 2022, when Jecory Frazier was indicted on possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and tampering with evidence charges.
He then asked for the firearm charge to be dropped, claiming it was unconstitutional under the 2nd Amendment. In 2024 , a judge ruled in his favor, but this most recent ruling means he will have his charges reinstated.
