(WHTM) -- An interchange on the Pennsylvania Turnpike will be closed for part of the weekend as crews demolish toll booths.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike said the Mahoning Valley interchange near Lehighton, on the Northeast Extension, will close at midnight Sunday, Oct. 12 and remain closed through 5 a.m.
The park-and-ride lot at the interchange closed at 6 p.m. Friday and will remain closed through Sunday morning at 5 a.m.
The commission said the closure is to allow crews to remove overhead tolling canopy and toll gantries as part of the conversion to Open Road Tolling.
