Subiaco’s most vulnerable residents will now get extra help on the streets, with The Salvation Army launching a weekly roving homelessness outreach service.

The service, which launched on September 16, runs every Tuesday from 11am to 3pm and involves support workers offering help to rough sleepers in Subiaco.

Alongside food, clothing and sleeping gear, the team will provide referrals, transport, advocacy and advice to help connect them to longer-term support.

“This extended service provides a visible and active presence in the community, providing timely and direct support to those in need,” mayor David McMullen said.
