In a somber week for Fayetteville as the community mourned the deaths of three E.E. Smith football players killed in a car accident Oct. 8 , local programs held moments of silence before kickoffs Friday to honor their fallen football family.
The Golden Bulls' game at South View was postponed until Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. , but Fayetteville's other teams were in action Friday for Week 8, each in the second of a five-game conference schedule that concludes Oct. 31.
Among this week's action, Seventy-First flexed its muscle with a convincing win over previously unbeaten St. Pauls; Terry Sanford came up just short in a gritty battle at Scotland; and Jack Britt was outdueled by Richmond Senior.
