SAYBROOK TOWNSHIP — For more than a quarter-century, area high school students have learned about botany, up close and personal.

For the past two weeks, students have widened their knowledge of trees and learned to cooperate at the same time, said Pat Seymour, who helps coordinate a cooperative venture between the Ashtabula County Master Gardeners, After School Discovery and long-time leader of the program Mary Howe.
