South Allegheny has been quick to dispatch all challengers coming down the pike at the team this season.
As it turned out, Apollo-Ridge was barely a bump in the road.
Tyrone Claytor carried five times for 140 yards and a touchdown and sophomore Alijah Cook threw for 122 yards and a pair of scores, as Class 2A No. 1 South Allegheny (8-0, 5-0) rolled to a 35-0 victory against No. 5 Apollo-Ridge (5-3, 3-1) to lock up a share of the Allegheny Conference title. The Gladiators are 8-0 for the first time in school history.
South Allegheny can take the title outright with either Steel Valley and Apollo-Ridge losses next week or a win against the Ironmen in their regular season finale on Oct. 24.
