NEW WAVERLY, Texas (KBTX) -The Anderson-Shiro Owls bounced back from last week’s district-opening loss to Newton with a 32-20 win over New Waverly Friday.
Why did Anderson-Shiro win? The Owls defense was sturdy throughout the night. While the Bulldogs’ offense had its moments, it wasn’t able to maintain much meaningful momentum.
Standout performance: Anderson-Shiro running back Ta’Colton Calhoun was a safety blanket for the Owls’ offense. Whenever they needed a big play, they turned to their junior running back.
What’s next? Anderson-Shiro (3-3, 1-1) looks to stay above the .500 mark with a home contest against Woodville.
